Preventing Tree Damage From Beavers

Q: |
We live along the river bank and recently planted two maple trees,
4 magnolias and a weeping willow.
I noticed that the weeping willow, about 6 ft tall was cut down and
removed by a what I'm sure was a beaver. How do I protect my trees? |
A: |
The best you can do is to wrap the trunks up to 3-4 feet high with a
couple of layers of chicken wire. Be sure to do this to ALL trees you value.
